We are a small farm located near Mason City in north-central Iowa that has had miniature cattle since 1993. Our goal has always been the same, to have healthy and colorful miniature cattle under 36 inches. We are breeding what we like to call Western Heritage Miniature Cattle. They have the conformation and color variety of longhorn type cattle. Something like you may have seen in the old west. Small and colorful.
2016 calves are here. Pictures added as they are born.
13 calves on the ground
Ripley (above) is a great example of what we are trying to do. Ripley is a 37 inch bull with lots of horn and color. We have many of his calves as well as his grandchildren in our herd. We also have brindles, speckled and spotted cattle. The more color the better.
We have cows that range in size from 32 to 38 inches tall. We have a wide range of colors. Solids, brindles, spots, speckles and tri-colors. Many of our cows have had multiple calves in a wide range of colors and patterns all from the same bull. We enjoy the added suprise on calving day. That is what we like to see.
Our calves range in size from 17 to 22 inches tall when they are born. The birth weights are 15-30 lbs. They are healthy, full of energy, up and nursing within a few of hours. Most are born outside in the pasture, unassisted. Healthy calves and good mothers.
If you like what you see and want to add some colorful miniature cattle to your front pasture, give us a call.
